We have to get out of the rat race towards devastation and one important part of that is the consumption of everything. From landfills, to trash islands, to water/soil/air pollution, to the scarcity of nature, consumption is leading us to a path of destruction and devastation. The capitalist want us to feel like we need new stuff to be happy, but usually most of the stuff beyond our needs actually bring little value, and often times stress and frustration with the clutter that follows.
But we need to have a De-Growth campaign fueled by the working people of color around the world agreeing, and enforcing it. If the rich, white land and business owners are allowed to define the De-Growth efforts they'll focus on benefiting themselves, all while exploiting the rest of society. Rich white people have to take a back seat to the new systems of the future, if we're going to have any success....why you may ask. "You're being racist Earth-Co!" Some would say. But around the world whiter people have tended to exploit and destroy places, nature, cultures and people. They're unequivocally the most wealthy of all the races . They have all the power now, and they're only using it to exploit. If you're a white person taking offense to this, you really have to ask yourself "Am I being persecuted more by immigrant, BIPOC community members, or by the very rich, white people controlling everything?" You'll find the same answer the very rich, mostly white folk have a loyalty to their money first, and in that they'll always push for "growth" and "prosperity" all while exploiting the rest of us.
We need BIPOC lead De-Growth, and Eco-Socialism can help us get there.
